Begin your day in Lacock, a National Trust village so beautifully preserved it has starred in
Harry Potter,
Pride and Prejudice and
Downton Abbey. Wander its honey-stone cottages and unspoilt streets, with an optional visit to Lacock Abbey — the birthplace of photography and a Hogwarts filming location.
From there, travel on to one of the country's largest and best-loved Christmas markets. Over 170 twinkling wooden chalets line the Georgian streets around Bath Abbey, filled with handmade gifts, local crafts, mulled wine and festive treats. Arrive in time to enjoy the market in daylight and stay to watch the lights begin to glow.
