For Harry Potter fans, a visit to the cloisters of Lacock Abbey is a must. These atmospheric corridors stood in for parts of Hogwarts in the early films, and the medieval setting feels especially magical in winter.
Lacock Abbey is also known as the birthplace of photography, where William Henry Fox Talbot created the world’s first photographic negative in 1835. (Entry tickets payable on the day.)
