Climb the gentle hill to West Kennet Long Barrow, one of the largest Neolithic chambered tombs in Britain, built around 3650 BC. Step inside its ancient stone chambers, then take in the views over the surrounding fields and the mysterious Silbury Hill. This landscape is one of the most popular spots for crop circles to appear, and on a summer's day you may even spot one from the hilltop.

Walk in the footsteps of Neolithic people along West Kennet Avenue, a path once lined with pairs of standing stones leading to Avebury. Arrive at the largest stone circle in Britain, so vast it surrounds an entire village. Avebury sits at the centre of crop circle country, with many formations appearing in nearby fields. Enjoy a flexible lunch in the village, where the historic Red Lion pub sits right inside the circle.

End your day on the rolling Marlborough Downs, where many of Wiltshire's crop circles are discovered each year. These chalk hills are also where most of Stonehenge's giant sarsen stones are believed to have come from, linking the ancient and modern mysteries of this landscape. It's a peaceful and fitting place to reflect on everything you've seen.

One thing to think about is the line about visiting new formations. Crop circles are seasonal (mainly late spring to late summer) and many are on private farmland, so I've kept that promise soft with "where access allows". You may also want to add a short note saying the tour runs year-round, but formations are only visible in summer, so visitors aren't disappointed in winter.
